Draka Comteq Extends ezPREP^® Loose Tube Fiber Cabling Family
Claremont, North Carolina USA - June 1, 2006...

Draka Comteq, a leading supplier of optical fiber and communications cabling, today announced  two extensions to its popular ezPREP Loose Tube cable family that are optimized for specific access applications:

ezPREP Loose Tube | Heavy Duty:  This heavy duty cable provides guaranteed performance for "worst case" scenarios combining extreme cold (down to -40° to -50°C) with extended buffer tube storage lengths (up to 20 feet) required for certain outside plant pedestals and enclosures.  Test results from Draka and other leading suppliers confirm that some loose tube cables experience attenuation increases in extreme cold when installed according to the recommended procedures of certain hardware manufacturers.  So Draka has engineered this Heavy Duty design that guarantees performance in these tough environments.

ezPREP Loose Tube | Central:  This central loose tube cable provides armored protection for lower fiber counts commonly deployed at the network's edge, and an economical alternative for virtually any outdoor installation up to twelve fibers.

ezPREP Loose Tube cables are commonly used with Draka's ESMF or BendBright™ Singlemode Fibers, and also available with a complete family of Draka singlemode and multimode fibers including TeraLight® NZDS (Non-Zero Dispersion-Shifted), and MaxCap™ and HiCap™ multimode fibers.
